Vice Chancellor's Message

It gives me an absolute honor and great privilege to write this message today to the cream of nation and inspiring professionals of Fatima Jinnah Medical University where I have fond memories of being a regular Vice Chancellor with best team.

Fatima Jinnah Medical College for women was established in 1948, named after the illustrious sister of Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. The institute was elevated to the status of Fatima Jinnah Medical

University on 1st July, 2015.

It attracts the best talent not only from Pakistan but all over the world and countries of SAARC region as well. Among the three affiliated teaching hospitals, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital is one of the oldest tertiary care hospital established in 1946.Its faculty consists of eminent professors and distinguished specialists, who are committed to the highest standards of teaching, training, research and service delivery.  The alumni of FJMU are pride of institute serving in the country and abroad. Again the credit goes to this esteemed institution that has given them the best education, professionalism and moral values.

I had the opportunity to previously serve this prestigious institute as the first regular Vice Chancellor in 2018 for a period of 4 and a half months. It was the most memorable and fruitful period of my career which I will always cherish. Getting to serve this great institution a second time is like a dream fulfilled.

My mission along with my team is to take this university to the world class best academia by team spirit and maintaining best quality standards in medical education and professional activities. I would like to emphasize few points of my future vision to make this University among the topmost in QS ranking and Times Higher Education Ranking by increasing national and international collaborations with other universities, organizations and institutions. Innovative solutions to improve health care services would be implemented. Research activities, faculty development and trainings of undergraduate and postgraduate students would be encouraged and enhanced. Research projects and publications would be supported in true letter and spirit. New programs for better healthcare services and evidence based practices would be supported in collaborative partnership with our alumni and foreign faculty. Best talent, leadership qualities and professionalism would be nourished.

No stone would be left unturned, by the Grace of Allah Almighty, to make this university among the topmost medical universities of the world
